Bosch Refrigerator Repair
Bosch counter depth and built in refrigerators use dual evaporator cooling, VitaFreshPro drawers and interior ice makers instead of bulky through the door dispensers, so their failures look different from a typical French door fridge. Fresh food temp sensor fault (E01)
E01 means the control board has lost communication with the refrigerator compartment temperature sensor (NTC thermistor), so cooling and airflow cycling turn erratic. We test the thermistor's resistance and inspect the harness, since a defrost problem can also ice the sensor.

Evaporator sensor / frost buildup (E06)
E06 flags the fresh food evaporator sensor; with a bad reading the compressor may run constantly and frost forms on the back wall. The usual cause is a worn thermistor, ice around the sensor from a defrost fault, or pinched wiring, and replacement is typically needed.

Ice maker not producing
A very common French door complaint: the internal ice maker stops. We check for a frozen fill tube, a failed water inlet valve, a clogged or overdue filter, or an ice maker module failure, and replace filters with a Bosch approved cartridge roughly every six months.

Leaking water / clogged defrost drain
Water pooling inside or under the unit usually traces to a clogged or frozen defrost drain tube, a failing water inlet valve, or a leaking supply line. Left alone it can freeze into a sheet under the crisper drawers.

Oven won't heat, bake igniter (gas)
On gas ranges a weak bake igniter is the top no heat cause: it glows but never draws enough current to open the safety gas valve, so the oven never lights. If it glows past roughly 90 seconds without ignition it is failing, and we test it for continuity and replace it as an assembly.

Surface burner won't light (gas)
A burner that clicks but won't light, or won't click at all, usually has a clogged burner port, a wet or misaligned cap, or a failed spark igniter or module. Grease in the ports is the most common cause; a dead igniter needs a part.

Induction zone not heating / pan not detected
A flashing power indicator means the cooktop can't detect a pan, usually non magnetic cookware or a pan too small for the zone. Persistent no heat can be an overheated element (F1/F6) or overheated electronics (F2/F4) tripping a protective shutdown until the unit cools.

Self clean door lock stuck (E305/F305)
Ranges with a self cleaning oven can throw E305 or F305 when the motorized door lock won't engage or release, most often after a clean cycle, leaving the door latched. A full cool down and power reset comes first, but a failed lock motor or control board needs service.

Oven not heating / bake element
An oven that won't reach temperature can be a failed bake or convection element, a tripped breaker or lost leg of 240V power, or a burnt element terminal; a power fault often shows as E005/F005. We test elements for continuity and replace them.

Temperature sensor failure (Er1)
A defective oven temperature sensor (RTD probe) makes the oven run hot, cold, or throw a sensor error such as Er1, with food under- or over cooking. We check the probe for correct resistance (about 1080 to 1100 ohms at room temperature) and swap it if it's out of range.

Stuck touch keys (E011)
Touch and SteelTouch panels can register stuck buttons (E011) from moisture, grease or a failing membrane, or go unresponsive entirely. Cleaning and a power reset clears minor cases; a failed touch board or user interface module needs a part.

Communication / control board fault
Intermittent shutdowns, blank displays or a range of E/F codes can trace to the main relay board or a wiring harness communication error. A 5 to 10 minute power cycle at the breaker is the standard first reset, and recurring faults point to the board.

Overheat shutdown (F1/F2/F4/F6)
Induction cooktops protect their electronics with thermal cutoffs: F1/F6 flag an overheated cooking zone and F2/F4 (or E7015) an overheated electronics bay. Recurring trips point to blocked ventilation, a failing cooling fan, or a power module fault.

Demo mode / no heat (dE)
A frequent false alarm: the cooktop shows dE for demo mode, so controls and display respond normally but no zone produces heat. It gets toggled on at the store and is cleared through the settings menu, not a repair.

Touch controls unresponsive / locked
Glass touch controls can lock up from an engaged child lock, spills or moisture on the panel, or a failing control board, so burners won't respond to taps. Clearing the child lock and drying the surface fixes most; a persistent dead panel needs the control module.

Clogged heat exchanger / condenser filter
Heat pump and condenser models have a condenser and a lower access filter that still accumulate lint; when the fins clog, airflow and heat transfer drop so clothes stay damp and cycles run long. A monthly rinse of the condenser filter is required maintenance.

Long dry times / not reaching temperature
On heat pump models, clothes coming out warm but not dry point to the refrigerant circuit not reaching target temperature, a clogged heat exchanger, or a failing compressor. A compressor that clicks then goes silent is failing to start on its relay or overload.

Lint filter / airflow heating fault (E01/E02)
E01/E02 flag a blocked fluff filter or airflow path that starves the heater, tripping the fault to protect it. Cleaning the lint screen every load and clearing the airflow path is the fix before any part is condemned.

Bosch Repair Questions
Is it worth repairing my Bosch, or should I replace it?
Usually repair. As a rule of thumb, if your Bosch is under about ten years old and the repair costs less than half the cost of a comparable new unit, fixing it wins, and repair is almost always far cheaper than replacing a premium Bosch appliance. The main exception is a failed main control board on an older unit, which can tip the math toward replacement. We'll give you a straight recommendation either way.
What does my Bosch error code mean?
It depends on the appliance, and the same looking codes differ by product. On fridges, E01 and E06 are temperature/evaporator sensor faults; ovens and ranges use E305/F305 for a stuck self clean door lock and E011 for stuck touch keys; induction cooktops use F1/F2 for overheat and dE for harmless demo mode; ventless dryers use dr, E42 and E01/E02 for drain and lint/airflow issues. Some are DIY resets, some need service, and we can tell you which over the phone.
