Specialists in GE
Why LA Trusts Us With GE
GE has one of the broadest install bases in Los Angeles, which means we see the whole GE family every week: mainstream GE, the smart WiFi and glass touch GE Profile line, and the copper cuffed Cafe brand with its swappable hardware. As a family owned, licensed and insured shop specializing in GE appliance repair, we know these units by their finishes and their fault codes, from fingerprint resistant Slate French door refrigerators to edge to edge induction ranges and stacked wall ovens. Our certified technicians carry OEM GE parts so most repairs are done in a single visit.
What makes GE worth trusting to a specialist is that the failures are predictable once you know the platform. GE dispenser refrigerators flash green diagnostic codes, ranges and wall ovens throw F series faults, and dryers report E60-series and thermistor codes, and we read all of them at the door. We service both older GE units and the newer GE Profile and Cafe smart models across the LA area, and because the repair is almost always far cheaper than replacing the whole appliance, we will always tell you honestly when a fix makes sense and when it does not.

Refrigerators
GE Refrigerator Repair
GE, GE Profile and Cafe refrigerators run in French door, side by side, top freezer and bottom freezer formats, and the electronic models flash green fault codes that tell us exactly where to look. We are specialists in GE cooling: ice makers, dispensers, control boards and full sealed system work. When a code points at the compressor on an older box, we will tell you straight whether it is worth saving, and if your unit may still be under a sealed system warranty we will point you to check your eligibility first.
-
Ice maker stops making ice
One of the most common GE complaints, often while the water dispenser still works. We trace it to a frozen fill tube, a failed fill valve, a clogged filter or a dead ice maker assembly and replace the failed part.
-
Fridge or freezer too warm (CC / FF codes)
CC means the fresh food side is running warm and FF means the freezer is warm. We check the start relay, condenser coils and evaporator fan, and handle refrigerant leaks with EPA certified sealed system service.
-
Water dispenser not dispensing
Usually the dispenser actuator paddle switch, an overdue water filter, or a water line frozen inside the door. A failed dispenser switch or inlet valve is the next suspect, and we carry the OEM parts to fix it fast.
-
Power and control alerts (PF / dE codes)
A PF code flags that the unit lost power and a dE is a defrost warning. Many clear on a power cycle; when PF keeps returning we check for loose wiring or a failing main control board.
Ranges
GE Range Repair
GE builds freestanding and slide in ranges in gas, electric, dual fuel and induction across GE, GE Profile and Cafe, and their ovens report F series control faults we diagnose every day. We are specialists in GE cooking, from hot surface igniters and bake elements to the electronic range control board. Most range faults are fully repairable, and we carry the OEM igniters, elements and sensors to prove it.
-
Electronic range control fault (F0 / F1 / F2)
F0 and F1 usually mean the control board has failed or a key is stuck or shorted, often after a self clean cycle. A power reset may clear it; if the code returns we replace the glass touch panel or control board.
-
Gas oven igniter weak or failed
The hot surface igniter glows but weakens until it can no longer draw the roughly 3.2 amps needed to open the gas valve, so the oven is slow to heat or won't light. Replacing the igniter is one of our most common GE gas repairs.
-
Surface burner won't light or keeps clicking
A gas burner clicking without lighting is usually a wet or dirty burner cap after a spillover, a misaligned electrode, or a mismatched cap. We dry and reseat the parts, or replace a cracked spark igniter.
-
Oven not heating or baking unevenly
On electric ranges a burned out bake element that fails a continuity test is the frequent cause. Uneven or wrong temperatures also trace to an out of spec oven temperature sensor or a failing control board.
Ovens
GE Oven Repair
GE built in wall ovens come as single and double electric units across GE, GE Profile and Cafe in 24, 27 and 30-inch widths, and they share the same F series fault codes as the ranges. Because these ovens are hardwired, we reset and service them at the breaker. We are specialists in GE wall ovens: keypads, elements, temperature calibration and the control boards that self clean heat tends to kill.
-
Stuck keypad / control fault (F7 code)
F7 means the control detects a stuck or shorted key on the membrane keypad, very common after a self clean cycle. We reseat or clean the ribbon cable, or replace the keypad or control board.
-
Oven not heating (element or control)
A wall oven that won't heat usually has a burned out bake or broil element with no continuity, or a failed relay on the control board that feeds the elements. Both are a straightforward OEM replacement.
-
Inaccurate temperature or uneven cooking
Drifting temperature traces to the oven temperature sensor reading wrong resistance or a failing control board. We verify against an in oven thermometer at 350F and recalibrate before replacing parts when we can.
-
Dead after a self clean cycle
The self clean cycle's extreme heat is a leading cause of wall oven keypad and control board failure, often surfacing as an F7 or a dead control right after the cycle. On these hardwired ovens we reset at the breaker, then replace the failed control.
Cooktops
GE Cooktop Repair
GE makes standalone cooktops in gas, electric radiant and induction across GE, GE Profile and Cafe, from smooth black glass induction with glide touch controls to sealed gas burners under continuous cast iron grates. We are specialists in all three: clicking igniters, dead radiant elements, induction pan detect faults and cracked glass tops. If it's a GE cooktop, we know why it stopped working.
-
Gas burner clicking but won't ignite
A burner that clicks without lighting is usually a wet or dirty burner cap after cleaning, an unseated electrode, or a mismatched head and cap. We dry and reseat the parts, and replace a cracked spark igniter or switch when needed.
-
Burners click continuously when off
Nonstop clicking with all knobs off is usually moisture in the igniter ports after a cleaning, or a knob not fully returned to OFF. If air drying doesn't stop it, we replace the spark module or switch.
-
Radiant or induction element not heating
On glass cooktops a burner that won't heat is commonly a failed surface element, a bad infinite switch, or a wiring fault. On induction it can be a failed coil, control board, or an overheat shutdown from a blocked cooling fan.
-
Cracked glass cooktop surface
The smooth glass on radiant and induction cooktops can crack from impact or thermal shock, disabling burners and creating a safety hazard. The repair is a full glass main top replacement, which we handle with OEM glass.
Dryers
GE Dryer Repair
GE makes electric and gas dryers in front load and top load formats across GE and GE Profile, including the stylized Profile front loaders in Diamond Gray and Sapphire Blue. Electric models run on a dedicated 240V circuit, and they report E60-series and thermistor codes we read straight away. We are specialists in GE dryers: heating elements, thermal fuses, thermistors, belts and airflow, and most repairs are done in a single visit.
-
Runs but does not heat
The drum spins but there's no heat, usually a burned out heating element, blown thermal fuse or failed high limit thermostat. An electric dryer running on only 120V after losing half its 240V supply will also tumble without ever heating.
-
Heater circuit error codes (E60 / E61 / E63 / E64)
These codes flag a heater circuit problem, usually a burned out element or an open heater wiring path. We test the element, thermostats and fuse for continuity and replace what has failed.
-
Temperature sensor faults (002 / 004 / tE)
A 002 code means the thermistor reads open, 004 means shorted, and tE is a general temperature error. These point at the temperature sensing thermistor rather than the heater, and the sensor is replaced.
-
Drum won't tumble or takes forever to dry
A motor that runs while the drum sits still is typically a stretched or broken drive belt, worn rollers or idler pulley. Long dry times usually trace to a clogged lint filter or blocked vent, which we clear as a fire safety fix too.

GE Repair Questions
Do you repair GE, GE Profile and Cafe, and both older and newer smart models?
Yes. We service the full GE family across Los Angeles, from basic GE and older units to the smart WiFi GE Profile line and the design forward Cafe brand. All three share GE's parts supply, so our certified technicians can diagnose the fault codes and repair every generation.
What do the error codes on my GE appliance mean?
Each appliance speaks its own code language. Refrigerators flash CC and FF for warm compartments, PF for a power loss and dE for defrost; ranges and wall ovens throw F0, F1 and F7 control faults; and dryers report E60-series heater codes plus 002, 004 and tE thermistor errors. We read these at the door to pinpoint the repair fast.
Is my GE appliance worth repairing or should I replace it?
As a rule, if the repair costs more than about half the price of a comparable new unit it may be time to replace, but most GE faults, like igniters, elements, thermistors and ice makers, are far cheaper to fix than the whole appliance. We give you an honest recommendation before any work, especially on the sealed system of an older refrigerator.
Why did my GE oven stop working right after a self clean cycle?
The self clean cycle runs extreme heat that stresses the control board, keypad and thermal fuse, and it is a well documented trigger for post cycle failures and F codes like F7. It is almost always a repairable control or keypad replacement. On hardwired wall ovens we reset at the breaker first, then replace the failed part.
Can you get GE parts quickly in Los Angeles?
Yes. GE, GE Profile and Cafe all share GE's Louisville parts supply, so common OEM parts like igniters, bake elements, thermistors and ice makers are widely stocked. Our certified, licensed and insured technicians carry them on the truck, so most GE repairs across LA are completed in a single visit, often the same day.
