The codes we see most
Er FF — freezer fan. The evaporator fan in the freezer is blocked, usually by ice, or its motor has failed. Er dH — defrost didn’t finish. The defrost heater ran without reaching its target — heater, sensor, or control. Left alone, frost quietly seals the evaporator until airflow dies and the fan codes join in.
Er dS, Er FS, Er rS — sensor family. A defrost, freezer, or refrigerator sensor reading open or shorted. Small parts, big influence: a lying sensor can run the compressor ragged or let the unit warm without complaint.
Er IF / Er It — ice maker fan and system. The ice compartment’s own airflow or mechanism is fighting ice buildup or a failed motor. Chronic icing here traces to moisture getting where it shouldn’t — the fix is the pathway, not the ice.
Er CO — communication. The display and main control stopped talking. Sometimes a connector, sometimes a board. Technician territory, and worth ruling out the cheap connector before anyone quotes a board.
The linear compressor, honestly
